Over more than a decade at the Center, he has been a part of several major projects related to the information environment, including our\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/alpha.pewresearch.org\/pewresearch-org\/journalism\/2024\/11\/18\/americas-news-influencers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">study of news influencers<\/a>, our\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/alpha.pewresearch.org\/pewresearch-org\/politics\/2025\/02\/12\/5-years-later-america-looks-back-at-the-impact-of-covid-19\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">five-year lookback at the COVID-19 pandemic<\/a>, and our surveys on how Americans consume\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/alpha.pewresearch.org\/pewresearch-org\/journalism\/2024\/05\/07\/americans-changing-relationship-with-local-news\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">local news<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/alpha.pewresearch.org\/pewresearch-org\/journalism\/2024\/10\/10\/americans-views-of-2024-election-news\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">election news<\/a>. Michael also spent several years writing about trends in religion in the U.S. and globally, contributing to dozens of reports and short reads on various topics.
