Americans have increasingly negative views of Israel and its prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, according to a new Pew Research Center survey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This Pew Research Center analysis looks at Americans\u2019 views of Israel and its prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu. It includes additional findings about Americans\u2019 perceptions of the Israel-Hamas conflict and President Donald Trump\u2019s handling of the relationship between the United States and Israel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why did we do this?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Pew Research Center does research to help the public, media and decision-makers understand important topics. This analysis builds on our previous work<\/a> about how Americans view Israel and its leadership. We regularly report on how people in the U.S. and elsewhere view various countries, including China, Russia and India.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How did we do this?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

For this analysis, we surveyed 3,507 U.S. adults from March 23 to 29, 2026. Everyone who took part is a member of the Center\u2019s American Trends Panel<\/a>. The survey includes an oversample<\/a> of Muslim, Jewish and non-Hispanic Asian adults in order to provide more precise estimates of the opinions and experiences of these smaller demographic subgroups. These oversampled groups are weighted back to reflect their correct proportions in the population. The survey represents the views of the full U.S. adult population.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
