Americans with high-speed internet access at home are much more likely than dial-up internet users to get news online on a typical day; some 43% of those with home broadband report that online news is a part of their daily news diet, while just 26% of dial-up users say so. Research by the Pew Internet & American Life Project has consistently found that home broadband users log onto the internet more frequently and engage in a wider range of daily online activities than dial-up users. Some people with home broadband are heavier internet users than others. Pew Internet has identified a \u201chigh-powered\u201d internet user who does more four or more online activities in a typical day.
