While there is not an overwhelming amount of hope in either camp, broadcast news executives are noticeably more pessimistic about journalism\u2019s future than are executives at newspaper-based operations. By a two-to-one margin (64% to 35%), broadcasters do not see good times ahead for their profession. Newspaper executives, however, are divided on the direction of journalism, with 51% saying it is going in the right direction and 49% believing it is going in the wrong direction. <a
