Even with their party facing a difficult election, 37% of Republicans said they were \u201cvery happy\u201d in an October Pew survey compared with 25% of Democrats. And this is nothing new. In fact, since the General Social Survey first asked the question in 1972, Republicans have always been happier than Democrats.
