ACLU <\/a>(1989)<\/em><\/strong>\nThe court struck down a Christmas cr\u00e8che displayed alone inside a courthouse in Pittsburgh, Pa., but upheld the same city\u2019s broader holiday display that included a Christmas tree and menorah.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em><a title=\"Capitol Square Review Board v. Pinette\" href=\"http:\/\/www.oyez.org\/cases\/1990-1999\/1994\/1994_94_780\">Capitol Square Review Board v. Pinette<\/a> (1995)<\/em><\/strong>\nThe court ruled that Ohio officials were wrong to deny the Ku Klux Klan the right to place a large cross on a public plaza where displays by private citizens were permitted.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em><a title=\"McCreary County v.ACLU of Kentucky\" href=\"http:\/\/www.oyez.org\/cases\/2000-2009\/2004\/2004_03_1693\">McCreary County v. ACLU of Kentucky<\/a> (2005)<\/em><\/strong>\nThe court ruled that the placement of framed copies of the Ten Commandments in courthouses in two Kentucky counties was unconstitutional.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em><a title=\"Van Orden v.
