It also builds on previous work we\u2019ve done on <a href=\"https:\/\/alpha.pewresearch.org\/pewresearch-org\/topic\/generations-age\/age\/older-adults-aging\/\">older adults and aging<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/alpha.pewresearch.org\/pewresearch-org\/topic\/family-relationships\/\">family and relationships<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>How did we do this?&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For this study, we surveyed 8,750 adults from Sept. 2 to 8, 2025. The survey included 1,193 adults who consider themselves a caregiver for a parent, spouse or partner age 65 or older. Everyone who took part is a member of the Center\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/alpha.pewresearch.org\/pewresearch-org\/the-american-trends-panel\/\">American Trends Panel<\/a>. For more about the experiences of Americans caring for an aging parent or for an aging spouse or partner, <em>read <a href=\"https:\/\/alpha.pewresearch.org\/pewresearch-org\/social-trends\/2026\/02\/26\/family-caregiving-in-an-aging-america\/#key-takeaways\">key findings<\/a> from the full study. <\/em>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"views-by-party\">Views by party<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">More than half of Democrats and Republicans favor each of these policy steps.
