This analysis is part of a broader study of <a href=\"https:\/\/alpha.pewresearch.org\/pewresearch-org\/science\/2025\/11\/18\/how-do-americans-view-childhood-vaccines-vaccine-research-and-policy\/\">Americans\u2019 views on childhood vaccines, vaccine research and related policy<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Confidence is highest in childhood vaccine effectiveness.<\/strong> Nearly six-in-ten parents of minor children are <em>extremely<\/em> <em>or<\/em> <em>very<\/em> confident they help avoid serious illness, while 14% are not too or not at all confident \u2013 a difference of 43 percentage points.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>But trust slips somewhat when it comes to vaccines\u2019 safety testing and schedule.<\/strong> While 44% of parents are highly confident that childhood vaccines have gotten enough safety testing, about one-quarter are not too or not at all confident. Kennedy Jr. to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbs.org\/newshour\/nation\/rfk-jr-wants-all-new-vaccines-tested-against-a-placebo-doctors-say-that-isnt-good-science\">change how vaccines are tested<\/a>, 44% of American parents say they\u2019re extremely or very confident that childhood vaccines have been tested enough for safety.
