This includes 71% who have a lot of trust.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>About two-thirds or more in Indonesia, Israel, Germany, the Netherlands, Australia and South Africa trust their nation to regulate AI.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Trust is lowest among Greeks: 22% trust their country to regulate AI.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 id=\"by-views-of-ai\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">By views of AI<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignright size-420-wide\"><a href=\"https:\/\/alpha.pewresearch.org\/pewresearch-org\/?attachment_id=276961\"><img data-dominant-color=\"f1f1ef\" data-has-transparency=\"false\" style=\"--dominant-color: #f1f1ef;\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\"  srcset=\"https:\/\/alpha.pewresearch.org\/pewresearch-org\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/20\/2025\/10\/pg_2025.10.15_ai_3_02.png?resize=480,882 480w, https:\/\/alpha.pewresearch.org\/pewresearch-org\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/20\/2025\/10\/pg_2025.10.15_ai_3_02.png?resize=782,1437 782w, https:\/\/alpha.pewresearch.org\/pewresearch-org\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/20\/2025\/10\/pg_2025.10.15_ai_3_02.png?resize=840,1544 840w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 480px) 480px, (max-width: 782px) 782px, 640px\" height=\"772\" width=\"420\" src=\"https:\/\/alpha.pewresearch.org\/pewresearch-org\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/20\/2025\/10\/pg_2025.10.15_ai_3_02.png?w=420\" alt=\"A dot plot showing that People who are excited about AI are more trusting in their country\u2019s ability to regulate its use effectively\" class=\"wp-image-276961 not-transparent\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In 19 countries, people who are more excited than concerned about the increased use of AI in daily life are more likely to trust their nation to regulate the technology effectively, compared with those who are more concerned than excited.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In Greece, for example, people who are mainly excited about AI are 35 percentage points more likely than those who are mainly concerned to trust their country to effectively regulate AI use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 id=\"by-support-for-governing-party\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">By support for governing party<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Trust in a country\u2019s ability to regulate AI is also related to support for its governing party or parties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Across most of the countries polled, supporters of the governing party are more likely than nonsupporters to trust that their nation can regulate AI effectively.
