The share saying they\u2019ve heard <em>a lot <\/em>has increased from 26% in 2022 to 47% today.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>About six-in-ten Americans say they would like more control over the use of AI in their own lives.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Still, 73% say they\u2019d be willing to let AI assist them <em>at least a little<\/em> with day-to-day activities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This chapter looks at Americans\u2019 exposure to artificial intelligence and views on its use in their lives. How much have Americans heard about AI and how often do they think they interact with it? By comparison, 54% of those ages 65 and older say they interact with AI less than several times a week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 id=\"ai-use-by-education\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">AI use by education<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Slightly less than half of Americans with a postgraduate degree (46%) say they interact with AI at least several times a day, compared with 20% of Americans with a high school diploma or less education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 id=\"ai-use-by-race-and-ethnicity\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">AI use by race and ethnicity<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">About four-in-ten Asian adults (39%) say they interact with AI almost constantly or several times a day, moderately higher than the shares seen among White (31%), Hispanic (29%) and Black (27%) adults.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Refer to the <a href=\"https:\/\/alpha.pewresearch.org\/pewresearch-org\/science\/2025\/09\/17\/ai-impact-on-people-society-appendix\/\">Appendix<\/a> for more analysis on Americans\u2019 reported AI interaction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 data-is-section=\"true\" data-wp-context=\"{&quot;id&quot;:&quot;willingness-to-let-ai-assist-in-day-to-day-life&quot;}\" data-wp-interactive=\"{&quot;namespace&quot;:&quot;prc-block\\\/table-of-contents&quot;}\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"willingness-to-let-ai-assist-in-day-to-day-life\">Willingness to let AI assist in day-to-day life<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A large majority of Americans (73%) say they would be willing to let AI assist them <em>at least a little<\/em> with their day-to-day activities, but only 13% say they would be willing to let AI assist them <em>a lot<\/em>.
