Among Republicans, those under 30 are more likely than older adults to say that the media are doing at least somewhat well: 51% say this, versus 42% of those ages 30 to 49 and about a third of those ages 50 and older.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Among Democrats, the opposite is true: Adults under 30 are <em>less<\/em> likely than their elders to say the news media are covering the election well, though a 69% majority still say this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"americans-views-of-news-sources-they-turn-to-most-for-election-news\">Americans\u2019 views of news sources they turn to most for election news<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Americans are much more positive in their assessments of the sources they turn to most often for news about the presidential election than they are about the news media as a whole.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignright size-310-wide\"><a href=\"https:\/\/alpha.pewresearch.org\/pewresearch-org\/?attachment_id=188989\"><img data-dominant-color=\"e6dedf\" data-has-transparency=\"false\" style=\"--dominant-color: #e6dedf;\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\"  srcset=\"https:\/\/alpha.pewresearch.org\/pewresearch-org\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/20\/2024\/10\/PJ_2024.10.10_2024-election-news_3-06.png?resize=480,468 480w, https:\/\/alpha.pewresearch.org\/pewresearch-org\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/20\/2024\/10\/PJ_2024.10.10_2024-election-news_3-06.png?resize=620,604 620w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 480px) 480px, (max-width: 782px) 782px, 640px\" height=\"302\" width=\"310\" src=\"https:\/\/alpha.pewresearch.org\/pewresearch-org\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/20\/2024\/10\/PJ_2024.10.10_2024-election-news_3-06.png?w=620\" alt=\"Bar chart showing most Americans think their own news sources cover the election well\" class=\"wp-image-188989 not-transparent\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Around eight-in-ten U.S. adults (81%) say the news sources they turn to most often have covered the 2024 election very (27%) or somewhat (54%) well. This figure has been roughly consistent since we first asked this question in 2016.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Meanwhile, about four-in-ten say they like seeing a lot of coverage of the campaign and candidates.
