The law will go into effect across the EU in 2025.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a <a href=\"https:\/\/alpha.pewresearch.org\/pewresearch-org\/short-reads\/2020\/05\/01\/5-charts-on-views-of-press-freedom-around-the-world\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">2019 Center survey<\/a>&nbsp;of 34 countries around the world, <strong>majorities across Europe said it is very important that the media can report the news without government censorship <\/strong>in their country.
