Google<\/a>. The case, which is the federal government&#8217;s first monopoly trial of the modern internet era, focuses on whether Google has illegally used its search business to stifle competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to a <a href=\"https:\/\/alpha.pewresearch.org\/pewresearch-org\/short-reads\/2022\/05\/13\/support-for-more-regulation-of-tech-companies-has-declined-in-u-s-especially-among-republicans\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">2022 Pew Research Center survey<\/a>, 44% of Americans think major technology companies should be regulated more than they are now, down from 56% the previous year. The share of Americans who say they want <em>less <\/em>government regulation of major technology companies roughly doubled in this time, from about one-in-ten in previous years to one-in-five in 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:27px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"chart-of-the-week\">\ud83d\udcca&nbsp;<strong>Chart of the week<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Trans Journalists Association is trying to address news coverage of legislation affecting transgender individuals. As of spring 2022, 8% of U.S. adults were following news about bills in several states related to people who are transgender extremely or very closely, <a href=\"https:\/\/alpha.pewresearch.org\/pewresearch-org\/social-trends\/2022\/06\/28\/americans-complex-views-on-gender-identity-and-transgender-issues\/#most-say-they-re-not-paying-close-attention-to-news-about-bills-related-to-transgender-people:~:text=all%20their%20life.%E2%80%9D-,Most%20say%20they%E2%80%99re%20not%20paying%20close%20attention%20to%20news%20about%20bills%20related%20to%20transgender%20people%C2%A0,-Many%20states%20are\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">a Pew Research Center survey found<\/a>. An additional 24% said they were following these stories somewhat closely, while most (68%) were following just a little or not at all.
