year,\u00a0<strong>podcasts surpassed AM\/FM talk radio\u00a0in total listening time\u00a0for the first time\u00a0<\/strong>in the U.S.,\u00a0according to a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2026\/02\/25\/americans-now-listen-to-podcasts-more-often-than-talk-radio-study-shows\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">new study from Edison Research<\/a>.<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Among Americans ages 13 and older, 40% of\u00a0time spent\u00a0listening\u00a0to \u201cspoken-word audio\u201d was\u00a0dedicated\u00a0to\u00a0podcasts, compared with 39%\u00a0dedicated to\u00a0talk radio.\u00a0<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n<div width=\"100%\" class=\"ng-block-718b60059305502b wp-block-newsletterglue-text ng-block\" style=\"color:#2a2a2a\"><div><div><div class=\"ng-block-td\" align=\"none\" style=\"font-size:16px;font-family:Georgia;line-height:1.6;font-weight:normal;padding-top:8px;padding-bottom:10px;padding-left:20px;padding-right:20px;text-align:none;color:#2a2a2a\"><p>In a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/alpha.pewresearch.org\/pewresearch-org\/journalism\/fact-sheet\/podcasts-and-news-fact-sheet\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">2025 Pew Research Center survey<\/a>,\u00a0<strong>just over half of U.S. adults (54%) said\u00a0they\u2019d\u00a0listened to a podcast in the\u00a0prior\u00a012 months. <\/strong>Americans are still more likely to say they at least sometimes <a href=\"https:\/\/alpha.pewresearch.org\/pewresearch-org\/journalism\/fact-sheet\/news-platform-fact-sheet\/#who-uses-each-news-platform\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">get news from radio<\/a> (44%) rather\u00a0than podcasts (32%).
