noopener\">searched the home<\/a>\u00a0of <strong>Washington\u00a0Post journalist<\/strong>\u00a0Hannah Natanson as a part of an\u202finvestigation into leaked government documents,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cjr.org\/news\/hannah-natanson-fbi-washington-post-raid-devices-seized-runa-sandvik-security-computer-phone-laptop-sources.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">raising concerns<\/a>\u00a0about press freedom and\u00a0journalists\u2019\u00a0security.\u00a0Attorney General Pam Bondi said the Pentagon requested the search because Natanson \u201cwas obtaining and reporting classified and illegally leaked information from a Pentagon contractor.\u201d Natanson has spent much of the past year reporting on the Trump\u00a0administration\u2019s efforts to reshape the federal government and has more recently worked on articles about U.S. actions in Venezuela.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n<div width=\"100%\" into President Donald\u00a0Trump\u2019s second term, a <a href=\"https:\/\/alpha.pewresearch.org\/pewresearch-org\/short-reads\/2025\/04\/24\/americans-remain-concerned-about-press-freedoms-but-partisan-views-have-flipped-since-2024\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">2025 Pew Research Center survey<\/a> found that Americans who had been closely following news about the Trump administration were much more likely than others to say they were extremely or very concerned about potential restrictions on press freedoms in the U.S. (49% vs. 29%).\u00a0<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n<div width=\"100%\"
