The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/mediacentre\/2025\/new-ebu-research-ai-assistants-news-content\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">study<\/a> analyzed 3,000 responses to questions about the news from AI assistants, including ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini and Perplexity. According to the research, 81% of the AI responses had some kind of problem, including 45% that had at least one significant issue.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n<div width=\"100%\" class=\"ng-block-3c535dcd50440983 wp-block-newsletterglue-text ng-block\" style=\"color:#2a2a2a\"><div><div><div class=\"ng-block-td\" align=\"none\" style=\"font-size:16px;font-family:Georgia;line-height:1.6;font-weight:normal;padding-top:8px;padding-bottom:10px;padding-left:20px;padding-right:20px;text-align:none;color:#2a2a2a\"><p>Americans who get news from AI chatbots have mixed experiences with the news they get there \u2013 particularly when it comes to perceptions of its quality, according to a <a href=\"https:\/\/alpha.pewresearch.org\/pewresearch-org\/short-reads\/2025\/10\/01\/relatively-few-americans-are-getting-news-from-ai-chatbots-like-chatgpt\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">recent Pew Research Center survey<\/a>. <strong>About half of U.S. adults who get news from AI chatbots say they at least sometimes come across news there that they think is inaccurate.<\/strong> And a third of those who use chatbots for news say they generally find it difficult to determine what is true and what is not, while fewer (24%) say they find it easy.
