Perhaps not, according to many Americans. A March <a href=\"https:\/\/alpha.pewresearch.org\/pewresearch-org\/journalism\/2025\/05\/13\/what-is-news\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Pew Research Center survey<\/a> found that just 3% of U.S. adults say they think of <strong>celebrities and their lives<\/strong> as \u201cdefinitely news,\u201d and another 13% think of this as \u201cprobably news.\u201d The vast majority say this topic is probably (33%) or definitely (46%) <em>not <\/em>news. More than half of the audiences of sources such as Axios, NPR and The New York Times also have a college degree.
