Dominion first sued Newsmax in 2021, accusing the network of<strong> knowingly spreading false claims about the voting machine company <\/strong>on television and on social media. Newsmax stood by its coverage, saying it chose to settle because the proceedings were unfair.&nbsp;<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n<div width=\"100%\" class=\"ng-block-e5349327078836bb wp-block-newsletterglue-text ng-block\" style=\"color:#2a2a2a\"><div><div><div class=\"ng-block-td\" align=\"none\" style=\"font-size:16px;font-family:Georgia;line-height:1.6;font-weight:normal;padding-top:8px;padding-bottom:10px;padding-left:20px;padding-right:20px;text-align:none;color:#2a2a2a\"><p>According to a recent <a href=\"https:\/\/alpha.pewresearch.org\/pewresearch-org\/journalism\/feature\/news-media-tracker\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Pew Research Center study of 30 major news sources<\/a>, 40% of Americans <a href=\"https:\/\/alpha.pewresearch.org\/pewresearch-org\/journalism\/feature\/news-media-tracker\/newsmax\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">have heard of Newsmax<\/a>, while 8% say they regularly get news there. Here are a few takeaways:&nbsp;<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n<div width=\"100%\" class=\"ng-block-0d24bd35c1794e34 wp-block-newsletterglue-list ng-block\" style=\"color:#2a2a2a\"><div><div><div class=\"ng-block-td\" style=\"font-size:16px;font-family:Georgia;line-height:1.6;font-weight:normal;padding-top:15px;padding-bottom:15px;padding-left:40px;padding-right:20px;color:#2a2a2a\"><ul class=\"wp-block-newsletterglue-list\"><li class=\"ng-block\" style=\"padding-bottom:0px\">Most Americans (79%) agree that <strong>someone who writes for a newspaper or news website<\/strong> is a journalist \u2013 higher than the share who say the same about someone who reports on TV (65%), radio (59%) or any other medium.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n<li class=\"ng-block\" style=\"padding-bottom:0px\">Most U.S. adults say that the people they get news from <strong>definitely should<\/strong> report the news accurately (84%) and correct false information from public figures (64%).
