But <strong>it remains uncertain whether the ban will actually go into effect<\/strong> on Sunday. The U.S. Supreme Court <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/politics\/supreme-court\/supreme-court-tiktok-ban-bytedance-china-biden-administration-rcna186971\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">heard arguments challenging the ban<\/a> last week and seemed inclined to uphold the law. At the same time, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/technology\/2025\/01\/15\/trump-tiktok-ban-executive-order\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The Washington Post reported<\/a> that incoming President <strong>Donald Trump<\/strong>, set to be inaugurated on Monday, is considering executive actions to \u201csave TikTok.\u201d<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n<div width=\"100%\" class=\"ng-block-49ede387ea4c8ff5 wp-block-newsletterglue-text ng-block\" style=\"color:#2a2a2a\"><div><div><div class=\"ng-block-td\" align=\"none\" style=\"font-size:16px;font-family:Georgia;line-height:1.6;font-weight:normal;padding-top:8px;padding-bottom:10px;padding-left:20px;padding-right:20px;text-align:none;color:#2a2a2a\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/alpha.pewresearch.org\/pewresearch-org\/short-reads\/2024\/12\/20\/8-facts-about-americans-and-tiktok\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">A third of U.S. adults say they use TikTok<\/a>, including 59% of adults under 30 who use the app. And about half of U.S. adult TikTok users (52%) say they regularly get news there; that works out to 17% of all U.S. adults.
