By contrast, 31% say a ban is at least somewhat likely, including 6% who believe it is very likely. This week, the Center added new 2024 data to our <a href=\"https:\/\/alpha.pewresearch.org\/pewresearch-org\/journalism\/fact-sheet\/news-platform-fact-sheet\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">News Platform<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/alpha.pewresearch.org\/pewresearch-org\/journalism\/fact-sheet\/social-media-and-news-fact-sheet\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Social Media and News<\/a> fact sheets, which examine the ways in which Americans get news. Among the key findings:<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n<div width=\"100%\" class=\"ng-block-4c6fae51f3fe0463 wp-block-newsletterglue-list ng-block\" style=\"color:#2a2a2a\"><div><div><div class=\"ng-block-td\" style=\"font-size:16px;font-family:Georgia;line-height:1.6;font-weight:normal;padding-top:15px;padding-bottom:15px;padding-left:40px;padding-right:20px;color:#2a2a2a\"><ul class=\"wp-block-newsletterglue-list\"><li class=\"ng-block\" style=\"padding-bottom:0px\">A large majority of U.S. adults (86%) say they at least sometimes get <strong>news from a smartphone, computer or tablet, <\/strong>and 58% say they prefer getting news this way over any other platform.<\/li>\n\n<li class=\"ng-block\" style=\"padding-bottom:0px\">Overall, just over half of U.S. adults (54%) say they at least sometimes get <strong>news from social media,<\/strong> up slightly compared with the last few years.<\/li>\n\n<li class=\"ng-block\" style=\"padding-bottom:0px\">In just four years, the share of adults who say they regularly<strong> <\/strong>get <strong>news from TikTok<\/strong> has grown about fivefold, from 3% in 2020 to 17% in
