Writing for the majority, Justice Amy Coney Barrett concluded that past restrictions on content could not be directly tied to the White House\u2019s communications with the social media platforms, and that the platforms were already moderating content themselves. The ruling means <strong>there will not be new limits on how the government can communicate with tech companies.<\/strong><\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n<div width=\"100%\" class=\"ng-block-15dd21ab7f663614 wp-block-newsletterglue-text ng-block\" style=\"color:#2a2a2a\"><div><div><div class=\"ng-block-td\" align=\"none\" style=\"font-size:16px;font-family:Georgia;line-height:1.6;font-weight:normal;padding-top:8px;padding-bottom:10px;padding-left:20px;padding-right:20px;text-align:none;color:#2a2a2a\"><p>According to a <a href=\"https:\/\/alpha.pewresearch.org\/pewresearch-org\/short-reads\/2023\/07\/20\/most-americans-favor-restrictions-on-false-information-violent-content-online\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">2023 Pew Research Center analysis<\/a>, <strong>support for both technology companies and the U.S. government taking steps to restrict false information online has grown in recent years.<\/strong> For example, the share of U.S. adults who say the federal government should do this has risen from 39% in 2018 to 55% in 2023. Another 35% say they like seeing a lot of this coverage.
