Under his leadership, the Center has issued more than 800 reports based on its surveys and data-science analyses that examine people\u2019s online activities and the internet\u2019s role in their lives. The American Sociological Association gave Rainie its award for \u201cexcellence in the reporting on social issues\u201d and described his work as the \u201cmost authoritative source of reliable data on the use and impact of the internet and mobile connectivity.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Rainie is a co-author of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Networked-The-Social-Operating-System\/dp\/0262017199\/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&amp;qid=1337019015&amp;sr=8-1\"><em>Networked: The new social operating system<\/em><\/a> and five books about the future of the internet that are drawn from the Center\u2019s research.
