While taxes are historically considered an issue favoring Republicans, Barack Obama is currently chosen by 49% of voters on dealing with taxes compared to 36% who choose John McCain. Obama held a smaller advantages on taxes in September (44% to 39%). Women choose Obama over McCain by a substantial margin on taxes, favoring him by 25 points.
