WASHINGTON – George W. Bush has set the modern presidential record for stratospheric approval ratings – only Franklin Roosevelt and Harry Truman had longer runs of nearly universal public support. The politics of the coming year will be determined by the durability and the breadth of these ratings as the midterm elections approach. Those hoping – or worrying – that Mr. Bush’s high approval scores will falter by November should know it is not likely, if history is any guide. Read full article
