# Internet rethink

In our report, [“The Future of the Internet,”](https://alpha.pewresearch.org/pewresearch-org/internet/PPF/r/145/report_display.asp) we quoted Rose Vines, a technology journalist, who wrote, “The next decade should see the development of a more thoughtful internet. We’ve had the blood rush to the head, we’ve had the hangover from that blood rush; this next decade is the rethink. Because of that, we’ll start to see developments which reflect real human needs: For connection, for privacy, for security, for a sense of belonging.”

Check out the database of statements made between [1990-95](http://www.elon.edu/predictions/advanced.aspx), during the “blood rush” era. Check out some of the [“rethink”](http://www.elon.edu/predictions/survey_04.aspx) statements made in response to our survey. Then [add your predictions](http://www.elon.edu/predictions/SubmitYourVision.aspx) to the database.
